Role of ICT in Recent History- Million People March

The so-called Million People March was the first of a series of protest in the Philippines calling for the total abolition of the Pork Barrel, triggered by the public anger over the Priority Development Assistance fund scam. The people march commentators considered this as the first ever massive rally in the Philippines.

Initial calls disseminated through social media ( mainly as Facebook and twitter) to convince a protest on August 26, 2013 at Luneta Park in Manila as well as other cities nationwide and overseas. People used to be united on the said day. On the other hand for those who don't have social media they still get information through television and newspapers.
